Support for the Construction Industry

A new support package has been announced to provide cash grants to businesses in the construction sector that operate in the following local government areas:

• Metropolitan Melbourne
• The City of Greater Geelong
• Mitchell Shire
• Surf Coast Shire

The Business Costs Assistance Program Round Four – Construction grants provide eligible employing and non-employing businesses with a one-off payment of $2,000 up to $8,400, depending on the value of their payroll.

To be eligible, businesses must be registered under a relevant construction-sector ANZSIC code, have a Victorian payroll of less than $10 million a year, have incurred direct costs due to restrictions, and be registered for GST. In addition, businesses must not have previously received support under the Business Cost Assistance Program or the Small Business COVID Hardship Fund.

Applications for support will open mid-October on the Business Victoria website.
